Product Description
To support returned items, Openbravo allows negative quantity sales orders. While this is adequate for some applications, it has limitations where high volume returns and GAAP are required.
The TDS RMA module for Openbravo provides more sophisticated returns process than is possible with this standard Openbravo out-of-the-box functionality.
The TDS Openbravo RMA module manages the return of products and materials including common documents, reports and appropriate GL posting process.
The RMA module leverages the TDS Workflow Engine which enables custom processes to be invoked based on document state change (in this case, creation of RMA, receipt of return materials, etc. would all trigger RMA workflows).
The module is somewhat generic to support customization for specific manufacturing, distribution, retail and ecommerce deployments. General functionality includes:
1. Issue RMA
- Reason: wrong item, defective, [custom], other
- Type: warranty, standard repair, stock rotation, [custom]
2. Goods Receipt
- RMA validation
- Out of warranty repair option
(includes customer approval process)
3. Repair process [custom]
4. Return Item
- Ship, invoice, post to approriate COA
5. Reports and documents
- Physical RMA document
- Outstanding repair orders (and state)
- Completed repair orders
Note: This is a 60 day lead time item currently available to TDS direct customers and others upon special request
